Commonly called Red Star Whitecedar. An easy to grow, small upright evergreen, growing to a height of 15 to 25 feet. Spread 10 to 15 feet. Fragrant, attractive bluish-green prickly foliage. A big splash in winter with rich plum-purple color. Prefers sandy, acidic soils. Thrives in wet areas. Low maintenance. Drought tolerant. Plant in full or partial sun. Native to United States. Pest free. Prickly texture will resist deer. Recommended for the following applications: vertical accent, hedges, screens. Makes a great impact in the garden when planted in groups of 3 or 5. Useful in bogs where it is native.
