Often called Rock Maple or Hard Maple. Height 60 to 75 feet. Spread 45 to 50 feet. Mature trees provide sugar products from sap in the spring. Brilliant yellow, burnt orange and limited red tones in autumn. A good timber tree. Does not do well in wet areas or in small compact restricted growing areas. Native to northeastern United States.
