A dense, thorny, slow growing shrub. Height and spread 3 to 4 feet. Vivid yellow leaves hold their color except in shade where they turn yellow-green. Tiny, pale yellow flowers from late April to early May. Glossy, red berries form in the fall that attract birds. Leaves turn to shades of orange, yellow and red in autumn. Deciduous. Plant in full sun in average but well drained soil. Deer resistant. Use for accent, foundation planting, shrub border or hedge. A definite stand out in the landscape!
