Also known as Swamp Willow. Vigorous growth 35 to 40 feet and as wide. Bark is dark brown to black, with yellowish branches. Pale green, 5 inch long leaves spring through fall. Yellowish green catkins in early spring. Native to central and eastern United States. A wetland plant for use in bogs, swampy areas along streams and rivers to prevent soil erosion. Used largely for shipping boxes.
