Mugho Pine is also known as Swiss Mountain Pine. Height to 2 feet. Spread to 5 feet. A dwarf prostrate, low growing, spreading pine. Dark green, stiff needles, in pairs, 2 to 3 inches long. Ordinary soil. Can tolerate poor, rocky, dry, windy conditions. This plant is widely used in foundation plantings. Excellent for rock gardens and Japanese gardens. An excellent bonsai subject.
