A tall, handsome tree attaining 50 to 60 feet in height. Native to eastern United States. Has a narrow, but rounded growth habit. Fall color is rich golden yellow, no other tree rivals it in late October. Small nuts are edible, have unimpressive flavor and are hard to crack.
