Grows to a height of 8 to 12 feet. Spread 6 to 10 feet. Native to eastern United States. Dense foliage turns red in fall. Small flat clusters of yellowish-white flowers in late May, followed by blue or grayish berries in the fall. Bark is scarlet red in color all winter. Grows best in well drained, moist soil. Yearly pruning out of old canes encourages new shoots from the base of the plant, resulting in a more brilliant red winter color of younger shoots. Berries attract birds. Very good for soil erosion on banks. No shipments to FL.
